Lime juice adds to the body’s daily requirement for vitamin C, helps the body produce collagen, and lime juice has potent anti-carcinogenic properties.
This watermelon limeade recipe will help keep you healthy and hydrated in a tasty and refreshing way.
Watermelon Limeade
Ingredients
8 cups cubed watermelon (seeds removed)
1/4 cup lime juice (approximately 3 to 4 limes)
2 tablespoons agave nectar
Directions
Pulse half the watermelon cubes at a time in a blender just long enough to give the appearance of a chunky sauce (about 10 to 12 short pulses). Transfer the watermelon pulp to a colander lined with cheesecloth set over a large container, stirring occasionally until most of the liquid has dripped through.
Add watermelon juice, lime juice and agave nectar to pitcher and stir. Refrigerate for 2-4 hours. Stir well before serving, adding ice and garnishing with lime if desired.
Makes about 1 quart
