MG Lignum’s mission is to free our need of plastic and petroleum and they are doing so by creating wooden sunglasses and wooden smart phone cases as alternative environmental friendly accessories. MG Lignum is strictly committed to providing accessories with no or low plastic to ultimately combat the world’s dependency on petroleum.
Their wooden sunglasses and wooden smart phone cases are made from wood, mainly bamboo. Some may wonder if using wood for sustainable accessories is really eco-friendly and the answer is yes. The real enemy is plastic. Wood is biodegradable, whereas, plastic ends up in our oceans. Wood is also a much cleaner material to work with in the manufacturing process than plastic. Plastic manufacturing releases far too many chemicals into our atmosphere. In addition, MG Lignum donates $1 for every product sold to ocean clean up organizations.
The good folks at MG Lignum sent us a pair of their light polarized wooden sunglasses so we could try them out for ourselves. These glasses fit comfortably on several people who tried them and the polarized lenses cut the glare of the sun considerably. Not only do they look stylish, you get a very cool wooden cylinder sunglasses case to store them in too.
